So the EPL kicks off in mid August and wanted to know if anyone would be down to do the fantasy league this year. Prime said he would do it and I'm sure Term will but didn't know what Pex's and Boon's status is.
and a random clarification for those who look at facebook: i lost a bet and thus had to change my status. pay no attention, if you know me then you know these terms of endearment are not my style.
without trying to embarrass boon by quoting word for word the long love paragraph....basically he posted how much he loves and adores someone named joan
just curious from the people who played, is there a certain position that scores more pts then the others? seems like you can pick different formations, but i mean if forwards score more than other players i will choose to play 3.
also, does every team play each week, or does paying attention to the schedule matter (obviously matchups matter but i just mean about whether a team has a bye or not)
in response prime, yea basically if a defender scores they get more points than if a forward scores. So goalkeepers get the most for scoring a goal, next def, mid, and then forwards. But then defenders get points for clean sheets.
Also each team is supposed to play each week but that does not happen. In the first part of the season every team plays every week but as the season goes on other games pop up that take their place (FA cup, Carling Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Cup, etc.). Also a lot games in the winter get rescheduled due to weather and pitch conditions. When Man Utd participated in this World League last year they missed like an entire month that had to be made up through out the year. By the time spring came up they had 3 games at hand. So while most of the time you will get all teams playing sometimes it does not.
what i meant was.....is there a certain position that typically scores more points. for instance, in fantasy football, a good qb will score more points than a good wr. a good rb will score more than a good kicker.
say you have the best defender, the best midfielder, the best striker, and the best goalie...is there a certain position that will be more pts than the other?
Got ya Prime. In the past years a good Midfeilder will outscore anyone else. He gets good points for scoring goals (6) and also gets a point for a clean sheet. And don't forget 2 points for each assist. Here is a breakdown of the points system.
All players Player is lined up in starting eleven 2 Player appears as sub during the game 1 Key contribution * (Assist) 2 Yellow card -1 Red Card -3 Penalty miss -3 Own goal -2
Goalkeeper Clean Sheet 4 Goal conceded -1 Goal scored 10 Penalty save 3 Every 3 shots saved by a goalkeeper 1
got ya....seems like captain choice is huge since pts are pretty hard to come by, so if you can get a captain to score that would be rather key
got my team set, dont really know anybody so my team will probably suck til the season gets a couple of games in. guess im out of the loop, but what happened to shevchenko? wasnt he on chelsea, or am i thinking of someone else
Sheva sucks, sorry nate. He was loaned out last year to AC Milan (his old club) and he didn't even really play. He'll be back on Chelsea this year but I'm thinking he won't see the pitch much.
seriously the best site for player stats is the espn soccernet. you can view every year the player has played with stats like starts, subs, goals, assists, shots on goal, shots, yellow cards, etc. There are other good stat sites but they are strictly team oriented.
i didnt know if that would be too far or not...i thought of saying it then didnt post it, then thought about it again a couple hours later and decided to. we're all friends here keep it in the circle
yes, new company. 22% increase from current salary is how i should have phrased it. i think i'm going to take 3 to 4 weeks off between jobs if possible and do some traveling.
i still need to make it back to DC for a weekend...but with going home for labor day and potentially blacksburg for nebraska, idk when i could fit it in.

lost a lot of bets this weekend......
so I don't have facebook so why doesn't Boon explain to boski what happened so i'm not out of the loop again log.

bosk i hope you remember your cousin is king of starting shenanigans. i just had to say a lame compliment.
i think the real solution should be for bosk to create a facebook account. mary lawver just did yesterday, so bosk might as well too
i'm in for the prem
and the only thing annoying about nate's status is that the bit responded with 'typs.' i'd smack a ho for doing something like that
hmm, who shall bosk believe? fam...or someone that deleted boskis off the charts perfect dark profile
hahaha at a few of the comments. glad to see typs is still alive and well in the DC ranks. i think i'll go down in history for that one.
also im in for prem league
"oh nathan, you make up the funniest words!!!"
nate: "hmm thank you!!! all my college friends always talk about how creative i am!! TYPS RIGHT??? RIGHT?!?!?!?"
hey nate, i'm really considering a facebook page...i mean my wife does it, but then I can't joke her about it.
After reading Prime's comment I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long long time.
pex, give me another 6 months and typs will make it's way to obama

basically goals/assists are the biggest point gainers from what i can remember about the last time i played. i remember c. ronaldo had huge weeks
michael owen, the sleeper. LOL
cant be any worse than rooney....how is that clown so expensive? must rack up goals against chump teams
also....if im reading this right, they not only rank your team, but they also have a thing where they rank the best leagues. we can win that piece
any recommendations on which sites to look at that best keep track of the premier league? player updates, scores, etc etc
espn is where i go for all my soccer stuff, but boski might know some more leet, behind the scenes site...
espn is pretty much the only place I go to as well, i've checked out other sites but theirs is easy to navigate
or you can just ask me since i know everything about everything
oh and i guess i should tell you guys. boon/log/nyphon has a gf now....
you KNOW bosk has some sleeper sites hes found during his grand googling hours....cmon now
dont know about everyone else but i already heard the word boon.....there were girls crying in the street in va beach last night
