Moment of Silence

I would just like to use this time to take a moment of silence in remembrance of the Grand Outlet Furniture store. This store provided the jumpstart to many a great career, notably a current Exxon employee and a current Medical Schooler, among many others. It shall be missed, I hope current Grand Facilities Manager Mr Boski will be able to enlighten us with details soon....

On another note, was curious to see what people thought (mainly Pex) about Healthcare. Any affect on your possible salary when you finish up med school? (I know nothing about it so that may be a dumb question)

Sorry Prime, but Pex's career started at Frankies Place for Ribs. And for healthcare, I'm assuming it would significantly lower Pex's salary. However, it may be a wash b/c I don't think his insurance would be as high. Pex?

I'll have to update you guys later on the crazyness that has happened to me recently from a work perspective. Also, I think Boon will be driving to vb this weekend.

back to my first post, i probably shouldn't have used the word significantly, but i too am interested in pex's point of view.

also, my mom just told me grand was burned to the ground. i had no idea that's what happened. prime, a little more description when you are informing us non-locals of VB news.

the health care bill is one of the best examples of politicians doing stuff that is so blantantly un-sustainable and unpopular and absolutely not giving a fuck.

i'm not saying there aren't some good parts in the bill, because there are, but to think that this is actually going to increase the deficit in 20 years is just flat out retarded.

lol. I really don't know too much about the healthcare reform. Supposedly its gonna lower the reimbursement to specialties, ie anesthesia, and increase pay for primary care.

Section 5501 initiates a 10% increase in payments for FPs, Geriatricians, Pediatricians, and Internists.

As far as the long term outlook etc and how its gonna affect me I really have no idea. I have so much stuff going on right now that I just wanna get into residency and worry about the rest later. It's also hard to have any idea about the healthcare reform because as students we have no real involvement with insurance, money, or any of the immense amount of paperwork that comes with being a real doctor.

At this point I'm at the sit back and watch stage, as I have no impact on what's gonna happen. It isn't going to make me switch my specialty, which right now is between anesthesiology, emergency medicine, and internal medicine in that order. Gotta have fall back options.

haha tell me about it. this week is going to be so boring... i've pretty much wrapped up all my client work and have transitioned everything else over already. There's really nothing left for me to do here, so I don't know why they are keeping me on this week. Probably revenge for me leaving ha
